INTERNAL LINKS
Add 3-5 Internal Links

My favorite strategies for on-page SEO is to add internal links to all my pages. I like to add 3-5 internal links, including the homepage. Internal links are hyperlinks that point to different pages on the same website.

These differ from external links, which link to pages on other websites.

Keep track of these two KPIs when doing internal linking:

Descriptive Anchor Text
Broken links

Here’s what an internal link looks like on a live page:

OUTBOUND LINKS
External Links Matter Too

Outbound links are links that point from your website to another. They’re often used to connect and direct readers to external resources such as websites, articles, and other publications.

The number, quality, and context of your outbound links can affect your SEO.

Check your website for:

Links open into new windows or tabs
Broken links

MULTIMEDIA
External Links Matter Too

Most people still don’t optimize their media files. Adding images and videos can help improve your SEO ranking and increase user-experience as a whole.

Just a reminder, always add ALT text for your images!

Check your website for:

Include images, GIFS or videos
Broken Images or videos
Descriptive alt text for images

SCANNABILITY
People Don’t Read

Most people will never read a full blog post and newsletter like this one. Making your post scannable will be easy for the read to interact with the content.

Include these in your website:

Bullet points
Numbered lists
Short paragraphs
